An accountant's letter is read by someone who works with numbers all day. General claims like "accurate and organised" mean nothing to them; close duration, budget size, entry volume and professional certifications do. Write in their language.

This is a guide, not something to send verbatim. Replace every number and company name with your own — a copied letter is easy to spot, and numbers that aren't yours fall apart in the interview.
I am writing to apply for the Senior Financial Accountant position you advertised. I have spent eight years in financial accounting, and what caught my attention in your posting was the emphasis on improving the month-end close — exactly what I led in my current role.
At Al Nukhba Holding I redesigned the month-end close workflow and cut it from 10 working days to 5, with no material audit finding in three consecutive years. I supervise a team of three accountants, prepare a SAR 45M annual budget and review its variances monthly with department heads. I am SOCPA and CMA certified, have worked in SAP FICO for five years, and know the ZATCA filing requirements in full.

What makes this role's letter different
Lead with the number they care about
Close duration, budget size, number of accounts, value of reconciliations. A number in the second line is what makes the rest of the letter get read.
Name the accounting system
SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics — these are the first things an automated screen looks for, and no general description substitutes for them.
Put certifications high up
SOCPA, CPA and CMA belong in the body, not at the end: many adverts make them a hard requirement.
